How the Optimizer Works
Primary Target
Base value = fixed per painting, from $304,500 (Hare Oneself Think) to $481,250 (La Dernière Débauche).
Weekly bonus = ×4 on first completion of the week. Resets Thursday.
Hard mode = ×1.1 on top of base (and weekly if applicable).
Keep vs sell = keeping the painting displays it in your mansion but its value doesn't count toward payout.
Secondary Targets
33 item slots across Vault (4), Loading Bay (1), Alarm Floor (3), First Floor (12), Second Floor (9), and Crisp Gallery (4+).
Weight capacity = 100 units per player. Items weigh 10, 20, 30, or 50.
Solo restriction = Crisp Gallery items require 2+ players to access.
Buyer's Request = collecting all marked items earns a bonus: $50K normal / $100K hard.
Multi-Knapsack Optimizer
Algorithm = multi-dimensional dynamic programming, equivalent to an integer linear program. Each item has a binary decision variable per player. Per-player 100-weight constraints are enforced during optimization, not after. Provably optimal.
State space = remaining capacity per player, scaled ÷10 (weights become 1/2/3/5, bags hold 10). Solo: 11 states. Duo: 121. Trio: 1,331. Quad: 14,641. All solve in milliseconds.
Floor routing = $1 tiebreaker bonus guides which player grabs from which floor zone, producing practical shopping lists without affecting total value.
Elite mode = buyer's request items are force-included (skip option disabled). Remaining capacity optimized normally.
Payouts
Secondary split = total secondary value ÷ player count, split evenly regardless of who carries what. Bags determine what to grab, not who gets paid.
Host = primary value (if selling) + secondary share + buyer's bonus (if earned).
Helpers = helper bonus ($100K normal / $200K hard) + secondary share + buyer's bonus (if earned).
Elite bonus = $50K normal / $100K hard, per player.
Planning fee = $100K deducted from host on repeat runs.
